A "V" Hoe isn't just a hoe, but could also be considered a single-tine cultivator with a very large triangular tooth. Its principle use is tillage in moderately heavy to light soils. The 2 inch wide by 5 inch long tooth, or blade, will stir soil to about 6-8 inches deep.

The hoe is also useful for light weeding, as its name indicates. The point is used to precisely excise weeds near the base of desired plants. The sharp sides are used for scraping away newly emerged weed seedlings. It is not a tool for ripping out overgrown weeds. Nor is it a tool for prying rocks from the ground. It is definitely not a chopping hoe-the tooth/blade is too thin for such work. But it is a nimble, useful and widely popular implement.

Choose a handle length based on your height, 18â€ for working at raised beds, or order the solid socket head with no handle.
