This trowel is a go to work horse for digging, scooping, and if you are creative scraping or shifting around loose soil. The width from side to side at the back end of the trowel is approximately 3 inches, and from tip to back edge of the blade is 4 and 1/2 inches. The angle of the bends in the shape helps to keep fingers off the ground or out of harms way when digging, without sacrificing ability to scoop and move small amounts of dirt. What can we say, it is a trowel that will last.
