Forged Fork (Bulldog)

Sale price$95.00

A strong digging fork

Note: We have not been able to order new inventory from Bulldog since 2023 and have been told Bulldog is no longer selling into the US. While we hope this will change, until then we have limited options of Bulldog tools available and will continue to remove styles/options as we sell out of them. Thanks for understanding.

Forged forks have been used in the garden for a very long time. We get lots of requests to make them. Hand forging a fork is extremely time-consuming, which makes the end product expensive. So we offer Bulldog's forged forks instead. This allows us to provide you a high quality forged fork at less than half the price of a hand-forged fork from our workshop.

Traditional English forks come in various sizes. We offer the 11, 9, and 7-inch versions which are good for most gardeners.
  • The 11" digging fork is made for heavy garden work and comes on a straight 48" handle or D-handle in two lengths (28" and 32"). It has the longest and widest tines allowing you to cover more ground and get deep into the soil.
  • The 9" version is best for working in confined spaces and in tightly planted beds. This is also a great option for those who don't have as much upper body strength or mass.  (These have been backordered for over a year. We hope to have them in stock again, but don't know when that will be.)
  • The 7" is for confined borders and those who prefer a smaller size. The shorter tines are also great for aerating your lawn because they penetrate the ground just enough to open up the ground without totally disrupting the grass.
The 11" fork is available on a straight handle and two different D-handle lengths. The solid forged head extends practically half-way up the handle making the tool extra durable where it needs to be. Digging or garden forks typically have four tines. These are squared, pointed at the end, and only slightly curved. Like us, Bulldog uses Ash to make their handles. In addition, they steam bend the wood near the top to create the D shape for a nice grip. From bottom to top the digging fork stands at 39" tall (43" for the extra-long handle), while the border fork is 37", and the shrubbery fork is 38". The straight handle fork is helpful for extra leverage and working large surface areas.

The size, shape, and weight of this item mean we must charge an additional $10 shipping fee to our flat rate shipping rate to accommodate for the actual cost of shipping it.
All of the Bulldog Tools come with an Ash handle (from the top): the shrubbery fork, border fork, and digging fork.
