ARS Heavy Duty Hand Pruner (VS7, VS8, VS9)

We know that many people come to us when they have given up on throwing away cheap tools that break when you are working your hardest. These heavy-duty bypass hand pruners made by ARS come in 3 different sizes - 7 inch, 8 inch, and 9 inch - for different sized hands. The 7 inch is a top seller for people with smaller to average size hands. Contrary to assumption the bigger sizes do not automatically equate to greater cutting capacity. Cutting capacity is determined by the size of your hands, and for smaller hands, we recommend opting for 7 inch option. For average size hands - you don't think of your hands as being large or small - either the 7 inch or the 8 inch will be appropriate. For large hands, consider the 8 inch or 9 inch pruners. Ideally, your fingers will loosely wrap around both the top and the bottom handle in a relaxed open position. If you aren't sure about what size to choose, opt for the smaller of the 2 sizes you are considering as, in most cases, you will have at least as much and possibly greater cutting capacity with less strain on your hand.

These pruners designed for professional use and are meant to withstand heavy use year after years. Other features that make the pruner easy for continued use and comfort are the locking latch that is released by simply squeezing the handles for single handed operation and a non-slip smooth PVC covering on the handles. These are heavy-duty because of thick high quality cast aluminum handles, high carbon steel blades with hard chrome plating. The blades can be sharpened for general maintenance with a stone, and can also be replaced once they have become worn out. High carbon steel wears slower, making it a more durable cutting material. Partnered with the hard chrome plating, which resists sap and rust, makes for a relatively easy to maintain pruner.

The pruners are relatively lightweight for the durability and are balanced to allow for all-day use with minimal fatigue or strain. Try the 7" general purpose pruner or general shear for a lighter weight option. The overall form is designed so that the blades are offset at an angle to maintain natural hand strength and can be re-sharpened with the carborundum stone or replaced.
