This circular hoe is designed to prevent undercutting or slicing through the early roots of those plants when they are still vulnerable. This is one of a few different types of tender plant hoes we make for working near young plants. \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eThe circle hoe had been available in the Pacific Northwest to gardeners for many years, but it has been a while since they were made. We have adapted the original design, made it more oblong and call it the circular hoe. This long handle version has an approximate width of 2 1\/2 inches, and a 10 inch or so reach beyond the end of the handle. The tool is also available on 18\" handles for raised bed work or those who work seated in a chair.
