The fork is around 5\" wide and 7\" deep, not including the eye (which adds around 2 1\/2\" to the total length of the head. This particular eye receives a slightly narrower than normal handle as compared to an eye hoe, for example. You may be able to buy what is called a laurel mattock handle or sometimes what is called a berry hoe handle to fit this head, but careful attention to the inner dimensions at the top and the bottom of the eye is recommended.
