Start at the back of the blade as flat as possible against the bevel. For a curved pruner, place your thumb on the flat side and index finger on the larger side. As the blade is sharpened, ~5-10 strokes, the bevel will change from dull to shiny. Burrs or nicks should be removed during this process. The goal is to make the entire bevel of the blades shiny. \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFlip the blades and using lighter strokes, remove any burrs from the flat side of the blade. Do not attempt to put another edge on the back side of the blade.
